Timeless Stonework

Oamaru stone is a premium grade limestone – the same building material that was used to create both the pyramids and buildings of ancient Rome. Limestone also is a favorite medium of sculptors. New Zealand’s renowned Oamaru stone is quarried in Weston, North Otago. The consistent quality of Oamaru stone is the reason its used in many of the significant historical buildings throughout the South Island and on several important buildings in the North Island; notably the restored Auckland Town Hall.

Limestone may well have been the builders and sculptures choice throughout history, but does it have a place in contemporary design and architecture. Architecture created in this material will stand the test of time. Oamaru stone is available for delivery throughout New Zealand, and is supplied as either sawn or split face.

Standard Veneer stone  sizes are:

650mm x 100mm x 390mm
650mm x 100mm x 290mm
650mm x 100mm x 190mm
650mm x 100mm x 90mm

Stone of other dimensions can be created at the quarry to your specifications.

Please note: for pricing purposes plans and specifications will be required. Ornate stone masonry is a specialized field and our craftsmen can advise you of the costs and technical constraints of releasing your designs from stone.
